Sessions are conducted using the 5 core practices of mindfulness, biofeedback, life skill development, emotional regulation and sensory profiling.

The Practice of Mindfulness

The art of being present. We spend so much time worrying about the future and holding on to the past, the only way to achieve peace is to learn to be present, non-judgmentally. No holding hands singing in a circle, no ‘clearing the mind’; this is practical and research-based.

Life Skills Development

Emotional Regulation

Do you sometimes feel like the passenger on the roller coaster that is your emotions? Ever lash out, freak out, or burst into tears and regret it afterwards? Discover greater control over your feelings, as well as ways to decrease the intensity of your sadness, stress, anger, loneliness or emptiness.

Sensory Profiling

Everyone is so unique, and the way your brain processes the information from your senses is individual to you. Learn what your specific sensory profile is and how to use this knowledge to adapt your life in ways that significantly decrease stress.

Neurofeedback and Biofeedback

Biofeedback is the process of giving you information (feedback) about what is happening with your body (bio) in real time. The point of this is so that you have greater self-awareness; you will be able to see when your body (heart rate, temperature, breathing, sweating, muscle tension and brain waves) changes and what thoughts caused those changes. In this way, you can learn what type of thinking or state of mind has the desired effect on your physiology. Generally, the goal is to help you achieve calm and focus and realise your potential.

What is Biofeedback?

Biofeedback is a technique of helping your body and mind to perform at their best. Biofeedback enables you to have better control of your breathing, heart rate, blood pressure, muscle tension, skin temperature and sweat response, also known as ‘internal arousal’. You will learn to ‘self-regulate’ these processes in the body through awareness and training.

Our thoughts, both conscious and subconscious, affect our physical responses and processes. With biofeedback you can see this process happening and learn how to control it. In this way you can not only improve your health but enable your mind and body to perform at their peak.

What is Neurofeedback?

Neurofeedback is a form of biofeedback where you learn better control over your own brain. This will then enable you to choose at what level your brain functions – do you need to concentrate more? Or perhaps you are struggling with too many thoughts running through your mind? Then neurofeedback is for you. Through neurofeedback you can teach your brain to enter the right ‘zone’ if and when you choose.

It is the process of addressing inefficiencies in the brain so that it can perform at its peak. When these corrections are made during the neurofeedback training then unpleasant symptoms you have been experiencing, such as fatigue, poor concentration, stress, emotional liability and obsessive thinking, will be reduced and often even permanently eradicated.

Become more self-aware – how do your mind and body respond to everyday situations and how can you better control this response so that you can be the best you.
